ABOUT US

The Natural History Museum was founded in 1996 with donations from Paraskevi Markou and exhibits that until then were housed in the Natural History Department of the Geological Museum.

The museum’s exhibits were enriched by the late Professor of the Agricultural University Dimitrios Voliotis, as well as Manolis Mich. Bardanis and Manolis Polycretis.

Visitors can explore the collections of Aegean mammals, the flora and fauna of the region, fungi, shells and shells, skeletons of marine mammals, etc. Among the exhibits, the skeletons of bellows whales, Mediterranean seals and dolphins stand out. Sea anemones and corals enrich the museum’s remarkable collection.

The museum has developed significant educational activities, organizing and hosting occasional conferences and events on flora, fauna and ecology.
